Building the regular past
We watched a film last night.
She studied for the test all weekend.Write the past form of the verb in brackets. All the verbs here are regular, but watch the spelling - some verbs change before the ending is added.

5. triedItem 1 simply adds the regular ending. Item 2 doubles its final consonant first. Items 3 and 5 change their final letter before the ending. Item 4 already ends with the letter the ending begins with, so it only adds one more letter.
